WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM MARY

Text: Lk.2:1-29

INTRO: Mary: a holy woman, not to be worshipped, not to be compared to Jesus,

she was a woman which God choose to use for His glory.

MENTION: Mother 293 times, My Mother 36 times, 1st mention Gen. 2:24

Eve: Mother of all living. Mother of our race

(Matthew Henry Commentary)

Eve: this companion was taken FROM Adam's SIDE to signify that she was DEAR to him

and as HIS OWN FLESH. Not from his head or from his feet but side, TO SHOW

GOD'S GRACE.

Woman: beloved, and honored companion and helpmeet, created as the necessary completion of man

Mother: as the bond of the family

QUOTES ABOUT MOTHER:

Lincoln - No man is poor who has had a Godly Mother

Emerson - Men are what their Mother's made them.

Herbert - One good Mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters.

Tennyson - The bearing and training of a Child are Woman's wisdom.

Riney - The Mother's love is like God's love; he loves us not because we are lovable, but because it is His

nature to love and because we are His Children.
